Bahrain Develops 109 Government Services Across 20 Entities
Bahrain has enhanced 109 government services across 20 government entities between January 15 and July 23, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to redesign services, improve quality, and strengthen institutional performance.
The development initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, accelerating digital transformation, and making government services more accessible and user-friendly.
Among the key upgraded services was the launch of a unified remote customer service centre for municipal services at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.
The improvements also included enabling users to inquire about official statements, records, academic grades, and archived files through the University of Bahrain’s eGovernment portal, as well as introducing electronic payment of endowment property rental fees through the Benefit application at the Islamic Affairs Endowments Council.
Other upgraded services included the introduction of a remote inspection service for land transport activities through the “Tajer” application at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
The Supreme Council for Environment also introduced an online service for applying for licences for refrigerant gas refilling centres through the “Sahab” platform, helping streamline procedures and improve service delivery.
The service development programme contributed to several improvements, including achieving 100% electronic transformation of services, reducing service-level agreement periods by at least 25%, limiting application procedures to a maximum of four steps, and cutting required documents by 50%.
The initiatives also reduced the number of pages required to access services by 50%, improved user interfaces and overall customer experience, converted application forms into electronic formats, and standardised service information across all available channels.
