Government Hospitals, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, held an awareness programme highlighting the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of treatment and rehabilitation.
The event featured educational activities showcasing the specialised services of the addiction treatment unit at the Psychiatric Hospital. A number of recovering patients were honoured for their commitment to overcoming addiction.
Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, stressed the need for cross-sector cooperation to strengthen prevention and protect families from drug-related risks.
Dr. Shaima Bucheery, Chief of Medical Services at the Psychiatric Hospital, said the unit offers comprehensive, evidence-based programmes to help patients regain stability and reintegrate into society.
