Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during the official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various fields.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted the deep-rooted historical relations between Bahrain and India, describing the partnership between the two countries as strategic and built on mutual respect and shared interests.
He stressed the importance of continuing to enhance bilateral cooperation to support the aspirations and development goals of both nations and their peoples.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised India’s growing role in international affairs and reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to further strengthening coordination and collaboration with New Delhi in various sectors.
He also expressed appreciation for India’s position and solidarity with Bahrain following the criminal Iranian attacks, as well as its support for the Kingdom’s measures to protect its sovereignty and maintain security and stability.
H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted the significant progress in economic relations between Bahrain and India, emphasizing the need to build on this momentum by exploring new opportunities to diversify trade and investment.
He highlighted promising areas for future cooperation, including industry, financial and logistics services, the digital economy, food security initiatives, and emerging technologies.
