Labour Minister Reaffirms Support for Deaf Employment
Talks highlighted vocational training and employment programmes tailored to the abilities of deaf individuals

Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, met with Hassan Abdullah Al Guraifi, Chairman of the Bahrain Deaf Society, to discuss strengthening cooperation in supporting and empowering people with disabilities, with a particular focus on expanding employment opportunities for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
The meeting forms part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with civil society organisations and promote greater inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market.
Khalaf reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to developing policies and programmes that support the integration of people with disabilities, including the deaf and hard of hearing, into the workforce. He stressed the importance of working closely with relevant stakeholders to create sustainable employment opportunities while reinforcing the principles of justice, equality and equal opportunity.
The two sides also reviewed initiatives to further improve the inclusion of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in the labour market through enhanced training, qualification and employment programmes tailored to their abilities, enabling greater professional integration and contributing to Bahrain's sustainable development goals.
