The First Major Criminal Court has scheduled July 28 to issue its verdict in the case of a 22-year-old man accused of forging official documents to transfer ownership of two vehicles before selling one of them.
According to prosecutors, the defendant allegedly forged the owner's signature on vehicle transfer forms submitted to the General Directorate of Traffic and misappropriated vehicles entrusted to him under a power of attorney.
During the latest hearing, the defence sought the defendant's acquittal, while his brother submitted a notarised waiver from the victim. The case stems from a complaint by a Gulf-based businessman who claimed the defendant unlawfully transferred ownership of his vehicles after being entrusted with registering and insuring them in Bahrain.
