Faiths Join Hands for Peace

The King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance organised a dialogue session marking the International Day of Peace, bringing together representatives of religious communities and places of worship in Bahrain. Titled “Common Ground: A Dialogue on Shared Values among Religious Communities,” the session was attended by ambassadors, government officials, members of the Centre’s Board of Trustees, religious and intellectual figures, and others interested in dialogue and coexistence.

The session reflected His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision of promoting coexistence, tolerance and dialogue among religions and cultures, as well as Bahrain’s continued efforts in this area under the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Speaking at the event, Shaikha Maryam bint Hamoud Al Khalifa, Acting Director of the Coexistence Department at the Centre, said peace is a daily practice reflected in communities, human relationships and places of worship.

She said meaningful dialogue is built on understanding and respecting diversity while identifying shared values that can contribute to peace and community service. The session also explored the contributions of religious communities to Bahraini society, the role of places of worship in strengthening communication and serving the community, and humanitarian work as a shared value among religions.
