Coast Guard Urges Divers to Follow Marine Safety Guidelines
The Ministry of Interior said the Coast Guard continues its awareness efforts to promote marine safety and reduce accidents while diving.
The Coast Guard urged divers to obtain the necessary training and qualifications before diving and ensure they are physically fit for the activity.
Divers were also advised to plan their trips in advance, check weather and sea conditions and water currents, and inform the Coast Guard station of their diving location, scheduled time and expected return time.
The Coast Guard stressed the importance of inspecting diving equipment and breathing regulators, checking connections and cylinder air levels, and maintaining equipment regularly.
Divers should also review their diving plan and communication signals with their diving partners before entering the water. The Coast Guard advised against diving alone and urged divers to maintain communication and remain close to other participants during the trip so assistance can be provided when needed.
After diving, divers were advised to drink enough water and monitor their health. They should seek immediate medical assistance if they experience persistent dizziness, difficulty breathing or any unusual symptoms.
