The General Secretariat of the Shura Council has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Corporate Ethics Mark and Kite Mark accreditation, recognising its commitment to internationally recognised ethical and professional standards in procurement and supply chain management.
The accreditation was granted after the General Secretariat fulfilled the institute's requirements for governance, transparency, integrity and ethical procurement practices.
Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, said the achievement reflects Bahrain's continued commitment to institutional development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She noted that these efforts have strengthened institutional excellence and encouraged the adoption of international best practices across government entities.
Al Abbasi said the recognition follows the implementation of global standards in contract management, procurement and supply chain operations. She added that the accreditation will further enhance administrative performance, strengthen governance, and reinforce confidence among suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
She also noted that the General Secretariat is the first legislative body in Bahrain to receive the accreditation and has been added to the professional register of organisations accredited by CIPS.
