The National Cyber Security Centre, in partnership with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), has launched a month-long awareness campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace.
The campaign, running from July 4 to 31, is aimed at employees in both the public and private sectors. It seeks to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and improve preparedness to address emerging risks associated with the growing use of AI technologies.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of the National Cyber Security Centre, said the rapid integration of AI into workplaces has made cybersecurity awareness increasingly important to safeguard data, ensure reliable decision-making, and support Bahrain's digital transformation efforts. He noted that while AI presents significant opportunities to enhance efficiency, performance and innovation, its successful adoption depends on responsible use and the implementation of appropriate security measures.
Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of BIBF, said the initiative highlights the value of national collaboration in encouraging the secure adoption of AI technologies while strengthening the capabilities of the national workforce to respond to evolving cyber threats.
The campaign features a range of awareness activities, including social media content, weekly electronic newsletters, an interactive online platform, and an experts' forum focused on cybersecurity challenges and best practices for the safe use of AI in the workplace.
