73% Completion for Muharraq Development Phase One

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amina bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, announced that construction for the first phase of the Muharraq Development Project has reached 73% completion.
The announcement came during a site visit to the project, which includes six traditional neighbourhoods aimed at preserving Muharraq’s historical identity and enhancing its urban fabric in line with national heritage goals.
The project is being implemented under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and follows the national plan led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The minister confirmed that the visitor centre has been completed, along with the furnishing of a model housing unit reflecting traditional architectural design. Several heritage-style residential clusters have also been delivered.
Infrastructure works progressing
Works on internal roads and secondary infrastructure spanning 3.8 kilometres are ongoing, along with the development of over 300 parking spaces to serve residents and visitors.
Officials also reviewed coordination with contractors to ensure quality and timely delivery. The minister stressed the importance of maintaining integration between construction and infrastructure works.
“We are committed to preserving Muharraq’s identity while delivering a modern, well-planned urban environment.,” the minister said.
