400 Students Begin IB Journey in Bahrain

The Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, met with parents of the first cohort of students accepted into Bahrain’s International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) as the Kingdom begins a new phase in advanced education.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Education’s hall in Isa Town, brought together parents of the 400 selected students who secured places in the programme following a competitive selection process involving more than 3,000 students.
Dr. Juma congratulated the families on their children’s achievement and highlighted the importance of the International Baccalaureate pathway as part of ongoing developments in Bahrain’s education sector.
During the meeting, the minister provided an overview of the programme, including the preparations carried out before announcing the first group of accepted students. He explained the programme’s structure, teaching approach, and key features designed to support students throughout their academic journey.
Dr. Juma noted that the International Baccalaureate track differs from the traditional curriculum through its specialised content and learning methods, offering students an advanced educational experience with long-term academic benefits.
At the conclusion of the meeting, parents received the programme’s textbooks and curriculum materials, along with information packages outlining key details about the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and the stages students will follow during their studies.
