The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out more than 4,000 inspection campaigns and visits across the Kingdom of Bahrain during May 2026, resulting in the detention of 129 workers and the deportation of 324 individuals found in violation of labour and residency regulations.

The authority said a total of 4,003 inspections were conducted during the month as part of ongoing efforts to maintain what it described as a fair and competitive labour market. Officials said legal measures were taken against all observed violations in line with Bahrain’s labour and residency laws.

Of the total operations, 3,879 were routine inspection visits carried out across shops and establishments in all governorates, while 124 were joint campaigns conducted in coordination with other government bodies.

These included 48 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 25 in Muharraq, 26 in the Northern Governorate, and 25 in the Southern Governorate, reflecting a nationwide enforcement drive.

The operations were carried out in cooperation with several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), as well as the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, and the General Directorate of Traffic and respective police directorates.

Other participating bodies included the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and the Social Insurance Organization.
