Faster Map Services

Bahrain’s Survey and Land Registration Bureau has enhanced its digital services by upgrading its system for requesting and enquiring about cadastral (land survey) maps, as part of ongoing government efforts to improve service quality and streamline procedures.

The newly developed services allow contracting companies, property developers, and other stakeholders involved in real estate surveying work to request and purchase cadastral maps, as well as track applications electronically through the National Portal bahrain.bh.

According to the upgraded system, the processing time for purchasing cadastral maps has been reduced from three working days to just one. The number of application steps has also been reduced to a maximum of four, making the process more efficient and user-friendly.

In addition, the enquiry service for application status, which previously took one working day, is now completed instantly online. The services have been fully digitised, achieving 100% electronic processing through digital channels, while service level agreement requirements have been reduced by at least 25%.

The improvements are part of broader efforts to simplify procedures, reduce paperwork, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (Bahrain), said the upgrades reflect the bureau’s commitment to advancing digital transformation in line with high service standards.

He added that the organisation continues to modernise its services to reduce time and effort for users, improve operational efficiency, and streamline workflows.

Officials said the changes are intended to make services more transparent, efficient, and accessible, while improving satisfaction among beneficiaries and supporting Bahrain’s wider digital government strategy.
