Modern facilities aim to enhance quality of life in Northern Governorate
New Community Park Inaugurated in Complex 551
Bahrain's Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture, Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, officially opened the Village Park at Complex 551 in the Northern Governorate. The inauguration was attended by Member of Parliament Dr. Munir Ibrahim Sarour, Northern Municipal Council Chairman Dr. Sayed Shubbar Ibrahim Al Wadaei, Deputy Council Chairperson Zeina Jasim Ali representing the Seventh District, and Northern Municipality Director General Engineer Mohammed Saad Al Sahli, alongside officials and civil society representatives.
A Commitment to Green Infrastructure
At the opening, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry's ongoing commitment to developing parks, public facilities, and expanding green spaces across the Kingdom — efforts he described as central to achieving environmental sustainability and meeting the growing expectations of both citizens and residents.
What the Park Offers
Spanning a total area of 3,400 square metres, the park has been designed to the highest technical and engineering standards. It features a children's play area fully compliant with safety requirements, a football pitch, a smart irrigation system, security cameras, service facilities, and dedicated car parking. Green spaces cover approximately 752 square metres — around 22% of the total project area — planted with a diverse mix of trees and plants selected in line with the national afforestation plan.
A Project for Every Generation
The Minister described the park as a significant addition to the Northern Governorate's service and recreational infrastructure, built to serve communities across all age groups. MP Dr. Sarour praised the Ministry's efforts, saying the park reflects a genuine commitment to providing integrated public amenities for residents.
Community Voice
Municipal Council Chairman Dr. Al Wadaei called the park a landmark project that strengthens local infrastructure and raises service standards. Deputy Chairperson Zeina Jasim Ali highlighted the park's prime location close to residential homes in the Seventh District, making it easily accessible to families and community members alike.
