Delegations explore logistics integration and food security cooperation

A Bahraini delegation joined senior Thai officials and business leaders at the official opening of THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2026, one of the region’s major food and trade exhibitions held in Thailand.

The delegation included H.E. Mr. Khalil Yacoub Al Khayat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Thailand, alongside H.E. Mr. Sumate Chulajata, Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and businessman Mr. Khalid Ali Al Ameen. They were accompanied by a Bahraini trade delegation and executives from Gulf Air.

The visit formed part of Thailand’s broader economic diplomacy strategy aimed at expanding exports of Thai products to Bahrain and wider Gulf Cooperation Council markets. Discussions centered on improving integrated logistics systems, warehouse standardization, and consolidated shipment models to enhance container efficiency and strengthen regional distribution networks.

The Bahraini delegation held talks with Thailand’s Food Industry and Future Food Committee under the Thai Chamber of Commerce. The discussions focused on food innovation and adapting to rapidly changing global consumption trends.

In anothermeetings were held with Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), where both sides explored opportunities for deeper policy-level cooperation, particularly in light of ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

During the visit, the Bahraini delegation also invited Thai business leaders and food manufacturers to consider Bahrain as a strategic regional base for operations. In response, Thai representatives reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Thailand’s role as a reliable partner in global food security, emphasizing its capacity as a stable production hub and reserve supplier for consumer goods.

Both sides underscored the importance of long-term supply chain stability and expressed a shared commitment to enhancing economic resilience through sustainable and practical cooperation across regional markets.
