MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain has suspended entry for non-Bahraini travelers arriving from South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda on all flights.

Announced by the Civil Aviation Authority, this emergency travel restriction comes in direct response to updated World Health Organization warnings regarding the accelerating spread and scale of the Ebola virus outbreak in Central Africa.

The updated entry procedures at Bahrain International Airport impose a temporary ban on passengers arriving directly from the affected countries, as well as on anyone who has been present in those countries within 30 days prior to their arrival.

Returning Bahraini citizens are exempt from the ban but will be subject to strict, approved health protocols upon landing. Scheduled to remain in place for 30 days, the containment measures will undergo continuous epidemiological review, with officials noting that the list of restricted countries may change as the regional health crisis develops.
