Human Story from Dhaka Earns Bahraini Photographer Top Prize

Bahraini photographer Isa Ibraheem won first prize in the Egypt Best Press Photo 2025 competition in the category of Best Daily Life Photo Outside Egypt, marking a notable achievement for Bahraini photojournalism on the regional stage.
The competition attracted m o r e than 300 photographers, selecting 40 winners overall, including 10 participants from outside Egypt. Four judging panels comprising 18 judges reviewed the entries.
Ibrahim’s winning photograph captures a deeply human moment: a woman bathing her disabled husband in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The image was praised for its emotional depth and its reflection of values such as care, loyalty, and resilience in challenging living conditions.
The Egypt Best Press Photo exhibition is regarded as one of the region’s leading annual photojournalism events. It documents key moments and stories from 2025 through powerful visual storytelling across multiple categories, including news, sports, photo stories, daily life, and multimedia entries from both Egypt and abroad.
