UAE and US Discuss Regional Security, Ceasefire Developments in High-Level Call

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held a telephone conversation with Marco Rubio to discuss recent regional and international developments.

During the call, both sides reviewed the implications of Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, focusing on their impact on international peace and security, energy supplies, maritime routes, and global economic stability.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation to the United States for its solidarity with the UAE following the attacks, underlining the importance of strong international partnerships in addressing regional challenges.

The discussion also covered the latest developments surrounding the ceasefire announcement made by Donald Trump between the United States and Iran. Both officials explored ways to promote lasting peace and stability in the region through enhanced cooperation and coordinated international efforts.

Sheikh Abdullah commended President Trump’s efforts to advance peace and strengthen regional and global security. He also praised ongoing US diplomatic initiatives aimed at supporting peace efforts between the Lebanon and Israel, emphasising that sustainable political solutions remain key to resolving conflicts and ensuring long-term stability.

In addition, the two officials discussed the longstanding strategic relationship between the UAE and the United States, highlighting opportunities to further expand cooperation across multiple sectors in support of shared interests and global stability.
