Bahrain’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic, Osama Abdullah Al-Absi, met with Italy’s Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Rome, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and regional security developments.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Absi highlighted that relations between Bahrain and Italy continue to advance toward broader horizons, built on a strong and evolving partnership across various fields. He noted that this progress is supported by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The ambassador stressed the importance of building on existing cooperation and expanding it further to achieve shared objectives, while also commending Italy’s role alongside allied and friendly nations in promoting security and peace regionally and globally. Al-Absi reiterated Bahrain’s firm stance calling for an immediate halt to all hostile activities in the region and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. He also emphasized the need to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned attacks attributed to Iran targeting civilians, residential areas, infrastructure, and energy facilities in Bahrain, Gulf Cooperation Council states, and Jordan.

For his part, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto condemned the attacks against Bahrain and several regional countries, strongly denouncing what he described as hostile actions. He praised Bahrain’s resilience and ability to respond to regional challenges, reaffirming Italy’s support for measures that enhance the Kingdom’s security and stability.
