Bahrain, Italy Explore Cooperation Amid Regional Tensions
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, received today at the Ministry headquarters the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Andrea Catalano.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the long-standing friendship and bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and Italy, and explored ways to further strengthen and expand relations across various fields in line with shared interests.
The discussions also addressed the latest regional developments, including the repercussions of what Bahrain described as “aggressive Iranian attacks” against Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council states, as well as Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The meeting was attended by Sheikha Al Anoud bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Acting Head of the European Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Bahrain).
