Bahrain FM Meets French Ambassador in Manama
Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, received the Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Eric Giraud-Telme, during a meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters on Monday.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the longstanding and close historical ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the France, highlighting opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors in a way that serves mutual interests.
The discussions also covered recent regional developments, including the repercussions of ongoing Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain. These attacks were described as unjustified and aimed particularly at critical infrastructure, civilian facilities, and residential areas.
In addition, the two officials explored ways to enhance coordination and joint efforts within the United Nations Security Council, noting Bahrain’s role as a non-permanent member and France’s position as a permanent member. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued consultation to address threats posed by Iran to regional security and stability, as well as to international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
