Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh affirmed that the royal decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, granting a special pardon and ordering the release of 300 inmates convicted in various cases—along with others who benefited from alternative sentencing—reflects the King’s commitment to a deeply rooted humanitarian approach.
He noted that the pardon provides an opportunity for those released to reintegrate into society and contribute to the Kingdom’s ongoing development and progress under His Majesty’s leadership.
Al Saleh added that the King’s continued issuance of pardons on various occasions highlights his humanitarian and paternal care, praising his balanced approach of upholding the law while promoting values of tolerance, compassion, and national unity.
The Chairman also commended the ongoing efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in implementing the King’s directives and expanding alternative sentencing programs and open prisons. He noted that these initiatives strengthen Bahrain’s achievements in protecting human rights and rehabilitating inmates to become productive members of society.
He further emphasized that the Shura Council continues to support the development of legislation related to human rights, reflecting Bahrain’s advanced standing in adopting best practices that protect and promote rights for all.
