Bahrain Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects at Ministerial Meeting

The Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure, chaired by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, held its 296th meeting to review key national projects and ongoing initiatives across the Kingdom.
At the start of the meeting, the committee extended its congratulations to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr, expressing wishes for continued progress, prosperity, and stability for Bahrain and the wider Arab and Islamic nations.
In line with directives issued by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the committee reviewed updates on government efforts to repair damage to citizens’ homes caused by recent hostile Iranian attacks. The committee commended the swift response and ongoing repair work carried out by the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
The committee also praised the dedicated efforts of the Bahrain Defence Force, National Guard, Ministry of Interior, and other military, security, and civil authorities for their professional handling of recent developments, reinforcing national security and safeguarding public safety.
Additionally, the committee congratulated the Bahrain Space Agency on the first anniversary of the launch of Bahrain’s satellite “Al Munther,” highlighting the mission’s success and the satellite’s continued efficient performance in orbit, reflecting the Kingdom’s progress in space science.
During the meeting, members reviewed a proposal to expand the Ma’ameer wastewater treatment plant as part of government plans to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the sewage sector and improve infrastructure.
The committee also discussed the latest developments in the Manama waterfront project, aimed at boosting tourism and investment in the capital, Manama.
Further discussions covered the rehabilitation of the Jidhafs Central Market, including comprehensive maintenance works, and the preliminary timeline for the implementation of the Jidhafs Ariyaf investment project to support local residents and commercial activity.
The committee also reviewed regulatory and supervisory measures to ensure safe storage practices in buildings, in line with the highest public safety standards.
