MP Ahmed Al Salloom said Bahrain’s safety and the wellbeing of citizens and residents came first as the region faced exceptional conditions after the Iranian shelling, adding that state bodies had dealt with events with what he called ‘high efficiency and a deeply rooted sense of national duty’.

He said the speed of the response from the security and military bodies showed the level of readiness within Bahrain’s institutions, from early detection and emergency measures to direct field coordination between the sectors involved.

According to Al Salloom, the events showed that advance planning in Bahrain was no paper exercise but a working system that had been tried in real conditions and worked in practice.

He praised the conduct of security and military personnel, saying their discipline and professionalism showed a firm sense of duty in protecting the country, its borders and its airspace. He added that close work between civilian and military bodies had produced a clear model for dealing with crises, built on defined roles, fast decision-making and accurate delivery.

Al Salloom also praised the Bahrain Defence Force, the Ministry of Interior and other bodies concerned for strengthening defence and early-warning systems, securing key sites and keeping basic services running without a break. He said clear communication with the public had also helped reassure people and stop rumours from spreading.

He linked security calm to the economy, saying it remained the main base for protecting national gains and keeping economic activity and markets running. State bodies, he said, had shown clear readiness to keep supply chains in place, maintain banking and financial services, and secure basic needs, showing the strength of Bahrain’s public institutions and strategic reserves.

Speaking as a member of Parliament’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, Al Salloom said the committee fully backed all steps taken by the leadership and the bodies concerned to strengthen national security. He also called for public unity, adherence to official instructions and reliance on approved sources of information alone.

He ended by saying Bahrain, with its leadership and people, would remain firm in its principles, united at home and able to get through any challenge. What had been seen in the response, the discipline shown in its handling of events and the strength of the planning, he said, sent a clear message that Bahrain’s security was a red line and that its institutions were well able to protect the country and preserve its resources.
