Partial Closure of Shaikh Hamad Bridge Navigation Channel

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has announced a partial closure of the navigation channel beneath the Shaikh Hamad Bridge as part of ongoing works to replace cables belonging to the Electricity and Water Authority under the bridge.

The ministry urged all sea users and boat operators to exercise caution when passing through the area and to follow navigation instructions and warning signs to ensure public safety.

According to the ministry, the partial closure will be implemented using a 15-metre-wide vessel positioned in the middle of the navigation channel. Limited but safe navigation routes will remain available on both sides of the vessel, with each side not exceeding 17.5 metres in width.

The ministry confirmed that the partial closure will remain in place until April 30, 2026, and called on all maritime users to cooperate and adhere to the issued guidelines during the work period.
