Dar Kulaib stay unbeaten with second straight win
Bahrain’s Dar Kulaib continued their impressive run in the 4th West Asian Men’s Clubs Volleyball Championship in Kuwait, recording a straight-sets victory over Kuwait’s Burgan SC in Group C. The match, held at the Kuwaiti Volleyball Federation Hall, ended 3–0 in favour of Dar Kulaib, with set scores of 25–15, 25–19, 25–15. The win lifts the Bahraini side to six points from two matches, while Burgan remain without a point after suffering back-to-back defeats.
Under the guidance of head coach Ivan Joksimovic, Dar Kulaib produced a composed and collective performance across all phases of play. Mahmoud Abdulwahed, the team captain, led the side as they imposed their rhythm on all three sets. The point margins in the second and third sets — 14–7 and 20–10, respectively — allowed Dar Kulaib to play with confidence, leaving the home side unable to mount any significant challenge.
The team returns to action today for their final group match against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad at 1 PM, a game that will decide the Group C standings. In Group B, Al Ahli take on Kuwait SC at 6 PM in a key clash for top spot, with the Bahraini side on six points and the hosts on five.
