Manama: Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and human fraternity, crediting His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with establishing a visionary approach that places these values at the core of security, stability, and sustainable development.
In a statement marking the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence, observed each year on January 28, Al Saleh noted that the occasion stems from a Bahraini initiative adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing influence in shaping global dialogue on tolerance and harmony.
He emphasised that Bahrain has earned international recognition as a model for coexistence among diverse religions, cultures, and communities, pointing to national policies that encourage mutual respect and safeguard human rights. He described the Kingdom as a symbol of human fraternity, grounded in progressive legislation and long-standing national values.
Al Saleh also praised the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for initiatives that promote cultural and religious diversity, strengthen human rights, and reinforce Bahrain’s role as a regional and global advocate for dialogue and peaceful engagement.
Additionally, the Shura Council Chairman highlighted the contributions of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, noting its active role in advancing programmes that encourage understanding, cooperation, and respect among nations, thereby supporting social development and long-term stability.
