Bahrain Updates Occupational Safety and Health Council Membership
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Decision No. (5) of 2026, amending certain provisions of Decision No. (2) of 2015 concerning the Occupational Safety and Health Council. The decision was issued based on a recommendation from the Minister of Labour.
Under the new amendments:

Article 2: The Council will be chaired by the Minister of Labour, with membership including senior representatives from government ministries, safety authorities, and labour unions. Key members include the Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Relations, the Director of Civil Defence Safety and Protection, the Director of Oil and Environment Licensing, and representatives from the Ministry of Health, Civil Service Bureau, Social Insurance Organization, and Bahraini safety associations.
The Deputy Chair will act as Chair in the absence of the Minister.

Article 3: Membership terms are set at four years, with the possibility of renewal for similar periods.
The decision instructs all relevant ministers and authorities to implement the new rules, which take effect the day after their publication in the Official Gazette.
