Bahrain Celebrates Legend P. Bhaskaran’s Birth Centenary

The Bahrain Kerala Samajam (BKS) became the venue for a grand tribute to the legendary Malayalam poet, lyricist, and filmmaker, P. Bhaskaran Master, on the occasion of his birth centenary. The musical evening, titled 'Orkkuka Vallappozhum' (Remember Once in a While), was jointly organized by the cultural forum 'Bhoomika' and BKS under the banner of Aura Arts, offering a nostalgic audio-visual treat to the expatriate community.

Renowned playback singer and author V.T. Murali was the chief guest of the event. Under the theme ‘A Century Scented with Flowers,’ V.T. Murali, along with prominent local artists from Bahrain, performed immortal classics penned by Bhaskaran Master. The program was uniquely curated to include iconic songs created through Master’s collaborations with various legendary music directors, taking the audience on a journey through the golden era of Malayalam cinema.

The event was presided over by BKS President P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai, while Bhoomika President E.A. Salim delivered the welcome address. The presence of world-renowned magician Gopinath Muthukad added special charm to the evening. During the ceremony, V.T. Murali was formally honored for his contributions to music and literature.

Hundreds of expatriate families gathered at the Diamond Jubilee Hall to witness the musical night, which served as a poignant reminder of the rich poetic legacy left behind by Bhaskaran Master. Program Coordinator S.V. Basheer and BKS General Secretary Varghese Karakkal offered felicitations, and Bhoomika Secretary Rajitha T.K. concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
