Nepali Diaspora Celebrates Tamu Lhosar New Year in Bahrain

The Nepali community in Bahrain recently gathered to celebrate Tamu Lhosar, a vibrant festival marking the beginning of the New Year for the Gurung community. The event, organized by the community group Tamu Samaj Bahrain, served as a colorful showcase of Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.
His Excellency Tirtha Raj Wagle, the Nepali Ambassador to Bahrain, attended the festivities alongside members of the Embassy family. The celebration was highlighted by a variety of traditional cultural performances featuring both local Nepali talent residing in Bahrain and artists who traveled from Nepal for the occasion.
During the event, Ambassador Wagle exchanged New Year greetings with the attendees and commended the community’s dedication to preserving their identity. He specifically lauded the efforts of the Nepali diaspora in showcasing the nation’s diverse traditions abroad and recognized the role these gatherings play in strengthening social bonds within the expatriate community.
The successful celebration underscored the spirit of unity and cultural pride among Nepalis living in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
