Fake Traffic Fine Messages Circulating, Authorities Warn

Authorities have warned the public about fraudulent text messages that are spreading and falsely claiming to be from the General Traffic Directorate. These messages ask recipients to pay traffic fines through suspicious links and threaten immediate penalties if payment is not made.

Officials confirmed that these messages are scams aimed at stealing personal information or money.

The public is advised to remember that official authorities do not request payments through random links. People should avoid clicking on any links or entering personal or banking details, and always verify information through official channels only.

Residents are urged to stay alert and not act under pressure.

The warning was issued by the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic & Electronic Security.
