Ras Hayyan sewerage link hinges on Ras Abu Jarjur treatment plant

Sewerage services for Ras Hayyan will be delivered through two planned network projects, the Ministry of Works said, but the area cannot be linked up until a central treatment plant at Ras Abu Jarjur is built.
The ministry said this in a written reply to a parliamentary question from MP Lulwa Ali Al Rumaihi. It said the sewerage works would be carried out through a project to build a network in Ras Hayyan’s Block 963, and a second project covering Jaw and Ras Hayyan in Blocks 958 and 957.
Both schemes are still at the design stage, it said, with funding already set aside to cover the design work.
The ministry added that steps are being completed to start consultancy and design work for the first phase of the Southern Region central wastewater treatment plant, ahead of works on site.
