Bahrain, Qatar Gear Up for the Upcoming GCC Summit
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, today received Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi.
The two sides reviewed the strong brotherly relations between Bahrain and Qatar and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar.
Discussions also covered preparations for Bahrain’s hosting of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council, chaired by His Majesty the King. The ministers reviewed key topics on the summit’s agenda and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was also attended by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Qatar, Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghatam; Saeed Abdulkhaleq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Nawaf Abdullah Al Mutawa, Acting Head of GCC Affairs at the ministry.
