BJA commends royal support for journalists

The Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) has extended its sincere gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for graciously receiving the Chairman and members of the Association’s Board of Directors on the occasion of the approval of the Press and Electronic Media Law, ratified by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
BJA Chairman Isa Al Shaiji expressed the appreciation of Bahrain’s media and journalistic community for the government’s efforts, under the leadership of HRH Prince Salman, in finalising a law that meets the aspirations of journalists and media professionals, safeguards rights, and regulates the digital media landscape.
Al Shaiji praised His Royal Highness’s unwavering support for the national press and said that the Association’s Board members were honoured to receive His Highness’s guidance on the role and responsibilities of the press amid the Kingdom’s ongoing development, led by His Majesty the King.
He added that the Bahraini media community deeply values the continuous support extended by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which has enabled journalists to perform their duties effectively as part of Team Bahrain, keeping pace with the evolving media landscape.
The BJA head commended the government’s constructive cooperation with the Association in shaping a modern and progressive media law that reflects the Kingdom’s rich press history and honours the contributions of Bahraini journalists to national development.
