Massive Expansion Makes The Avenues – Bahrain the Biggest Mall in the Kingdom
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today inaugurated the second phase of The Avenues – Bahrain expansion project, under his patronage.
His Royal Highness affirmed that Bahrain’s ongoing development across multiple sectors reflects the Kingdom’s success in achieving comprehensive national growth, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening economic infrastructure and fostering an environment that attracts both local and international investments.
During his tour of the new extension, His Royal Highness highlighted the harmonious blend of modern facilities and traditional Bahraini architecture. He commended the efforts of the project organisers, describing the expansion as a testament to the Kingdom’s ambitious development initiatives and a driver of sustainable economic progress.
His Royal Highness also underscored the vital role of the private sector, noting that partnerships with businesses are key to advancing Bahrain’s long-term development goals. He stressed the importance of investment-friendly policies, entrepreneurship, and expanding regional and international trade in achieving the Kingdom’s strategic objectives.
The second phase of The Avenues – Bahrain expansion adds 40,000 square metres of new leasable space, doubling the mall’s total area to 80,000 square metres. The expansion features 244 new retail units and exciting entertainment facilities, including an ice-skating rink and a modern supermarket.
The project also introduces an underground parking facility for approximately 1,300 vehicles. The western extension includes unique zones such as The Forum, Grand Plaza, Electra, and The Souk, all designed with contemporary aesthetics to provide visitors with a comprehensive shopping and entertainment experience. The Corniche has been extended by 600 metres, reaching a total length of 1.3 kilometres, further solidifying The Avenues – Bahrain as the Kingdom’s largest shopping and entertainment destination.
Several senior officials attended the inauguration, witnessing a landmark moment in Bahrain’s continued journey toward sustainable economic and social development.
