His Majesty King Hamad Receives Malaysian Monarch

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa,received His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the King of Malaysia, at Sakhir Palace. The meeting took place in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
At the outset, the two monarchs held a private meeting to review the longstanding and deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and Malaysia, discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit and prosperity of their peoples. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthen collaboration across various fields that serve common interests.
Following the private meeting, an expanded session of talks was held, attended by senior officials from both nations.
During the discussions, His Majesty King Hamad delivered a speech welcoming the Malaysian monarch and his accompanying delegation to Bahrain.
“We are pleased to welcome Your Majesty and your delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain. This historic visit will further strengthen the enduring friendship between Bahrain and Malaysia, building upon the gracious invitation we received to attend Your Majesty’s coronation last year,” His Majesty said.
King Hamad highlighted the shared values uniting the two nations, including tolerance, openness, religious diversity, women’s rights, and a steadfast commitment to peace, coexistence, and mutual respect.
He also underscored Bahrain and Malaysia’s shared stance on supporting peace efforts in Gaza, calling for the delivery of humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and the adoption of the two-state solution as the only viable path to lasting peace in the Middle East.
“Our nations enjoy rich cultural ties and promising economic opportunities. Bahrain remains fully committed to expanding cooperation with Malaysia in multiple sectors,” His Majesty added.
He noted Malaysia’s notable success in national development, particularly in business, industry, and agriculture—areas where Bahrain also continues to excel—emphasizing the potential for joint work in banking, fintech, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure.
“With Your Majesty’s blessing, Bahrain looks forward to being a sincere, beneficial, and lasting partner to Malaysia through constructive collaboration that strengthens our friendship and mutual trust,” King Hamad concluded.
In response, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim expressed his deep gratitude for Bahrain’s warm hospitality.
“Although I am far from home, I do not feel distant here in this beautiful kingdom—Bahrain feels like home,” the Malaysian King said. “I never imagined finding someone in this part of the world whom I could truly call my brother.”
He emphasized the similarities and mutual respect between Bahrain and Malaysia, noting their shared values and aspirations for peace, prosperity, and progress.
“Bahrain is an important partner for Malaysia, and we look forward to strengthening our economic cooperation in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030,” he added. “I am confident that our relationship will continue to grow under Your Majesty’s wise leadership.”
The meeting concluded with His Majesty King Hamad hosting a state dinner in honor of the visiting monarch and his delegation, attended by senior officials from both nations. The ceremony featured the playing of the national anthems of Bahrain and Malaysia.
