3 Shots. 3 Wins. Bahrain Owns the Doha Photography Awards!

The Kingdom of Bahrain has marked a new milestone in the global art scene, securing three top honors at the inaugural Doha Photography Award 2025, which drew 5,206 photographers from 101 countries and over 27,000 submissions worldwide.

Photographer Zakariya Al-Omran claimed first place in the Black & White category for his evocative piece “A Mother’s Whisper,” capturing the tenderness of motherhood through the lens of the Socotra Cormorant.

Isa Ibrahim earned second place in the Photo Story category for “Maznoy Mia — A Man of Determination from Bangladesh,” a powerful humanitarian narrative of resilience and willpower.

Meanwhile, Ali Al-Qamish took second place in Color Photography for “Tbourida,” a striking composition from Morocco exploring the dialogue between permanence and disappearance.

The awards ceremony, held in Doha under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Culture, gathered leading photographers and artists from across the globe.

This international recognition reaffirms Bahrain’s growing presence in the world of visual arts and underscores its creative capacity to compete among the most distinguished artistic platforms worldwide.
