ISB Spartans Edge Out Rivals in Thrilling Girls’ Criiio Cricket Final

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Spartan Team clinched a five-run victory over ISB Super Star in a thrilling final match at the ICC Criiio Cricket Festival and Tournament for girls, held on Friday at the ISB Isa Town campus ground. Organised by the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) in association with The Indian School Bahrain, the tournament was a highlight of the ICC Women’s Cricket Week 2025, fostering physical activity and empowering young athletes.

The final saw an exciting battle between the two ISB teams. The Spartan Team, captained by Grade 8 student Parvathi Salesh, held their nerve to defeat the Super Star team, led by Faiha Abdul Hakeem, in a closely contested match that showcased exceptional sportsmanship and teamwork.

Eight teams, comprising students from Classes 5 to 12, participated in the event, which illuminated the evening with energy and excitement. The tournament commenced at 2:00 pm under the supervision of 14 officials from the BCF, led by Mr. Azeem ul Haq and Mr. Arshad Khan, with all players receiving custom jerseys and refreshments.

The Criiio Cricket Festival is part of a global ICC initiative designed by educational experts to promote inclusivity and lifelong physical activity through small-sided, gamified cricket experiences. The program encourages individuals of all abilities to stay active, build confidence, and connect with others.

The event was attended by ISB Head of Physical Education, Mr. Sridhar Siva, and Physical Education teacher, Mr. Vijayan Nair. The Indian School's Honorary Chairman, Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese; Honorary Secretary, V. Rajapandian; Honorary Vice-Chairman & Honorary Member (Sports), Dr. Mohammed Faizal; along with other Executive Committee members, Principal VR Palaniswamy, and Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, extended their congratulations to the winning team and expressed gratitude to the Bahrain Cricket Federation for their invaluable collaboration in making the festival a resounding success.
