Bahrain Cabinet Reviews Key Developments and Celebrates National Achievements
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King and Prime Minister, chaired the regular weekly Cabinet meeting today at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet welcomed the Royal Decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, calling for the opening session of the fourth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. Ministers expressed anticipation for His Majesty’s upcoming speech, which will outline national priorities and guide the country’s development path. The Cabinet also urged ministries and government agencies to continue strengthening collaboration with the legislative authority to ensure prosperity, growth, and welfare for Bahrain and its citizens.
In a celebratory note, the Cabinet extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad on McLaren securing the Constructors’ Championship in Formula One for the second consecutive year, marking the team’s tenth world title. The achievement was hailed as a milestone that further enhances Bahrain’s international sporting reputation.
The Cabinet also reviewed progress on the Crown Prince’s directive to the Ministry of Labour, requiring three job opportunities to be offered to every registered job seeker before the end of the year. This initiative aligns with the King’s vision of expanding quality employment opportunities for Bahrainis. The Cabinet praised the Ministry of Labour and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their swift action and cooperation in implementing this directive.
Highlighting Bahrain’s growing diplomatic footprint, the Cabinet acknowledged the Crown Prince’s official visits to the Vatican, where he met Pope Leo XIV, and to Italy, meeting Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and senior officials. The discussions are expected to strengthen bilateral partnerships and advance shared goals between Bahrain and Italy.
The Cabinet emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking, noting Bahrain’s continued ranking in the U.S. Department of State’s Tier 1 category for the eighth consecutive year. This reflects the nation’s commitment to protecting workers and ensuring a fair and safe labor market. Appreciation was extended to the Ministry of Interior and all involved agencies for their dedication.
Education achievements were also celebrated, as Bahrain secured first place globally in Microsoft’s 2025 Technology-Enabled Schools program. The Cabinet noted that this accolade demonstrates the country’s commitment to advancing educational institutions and equipping students with innovative skills.
On international peace efforts, the Cabinet welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed ceasefire plan for Gaza, including the release of hostages and humanitarian aid flow, describing it as a positive step toward regional security and relief for the people of Gaza.
