Bahrain Champions Youth Empowerment Through Strategic Initiatives at Ministry of Works

In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, a dedicated Youth Committee has been established under the Strategic Plan for Youth Empowerment.

His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, affirmed the ministry’s ongoing commitment to nurturing Bahraini youth talent and actively involving them in decision-making processes. “We are providing young Bahrainis with platforms to showcase their creativity and skills through strategic projects, aligning with the goals of the national Youth Empowerment Strategy and the ‘Youth Supporter’ initiative,” he stated.

Minister Al-Hawaj highlighted the pivotal role of the Ministry of Youth Affairs in supporting diverse youth initiatives across the Kingdom, aimed at making young people key partners in shaping Bahrain’s present and future. He also acknowledged the continued efforts of Her Excellency Ms. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, in guiding and backing these youth-driven initiatives.

The remarks came during a meeting between Minister Tawfiqi and members of the Ministry of Works’ Innovation and Youth Excellence Committee. The Minister praised the ministry’s dedication to supporting youth initiatives, emphasizing the importance of translating the strategic objectives of the “Youth Supporter” initiative into tangible projects that advance developmental work.

During the meeting, the Innovation and Youth Excellence Committee showcased the pillars of its strategy, including vision, mission, values, and objectives. The committee also highlighted its achievements and future plans through a comprehensive work program currently being developed with active participation from young ministry employees. The program aims to enhance youth skills, foster innovation, and promote a culture of initiative. Minister Tawfiqi stressed the need to intensify efforts to empower Bahraini youth at all levels, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the Kingdom’s progress.

In a move to further encourage young talent, the Ministry of Works inaugurated a dedicated Youth Corner—a space designed to nurture the creativity of young employees, encourage innovative ideas, and provide a supportive, flexible workplace that promotes both professional and mental well-being. The initiative aims to cultivate a culture of creativity and innovation among Bahrain’s youth workforce.
