293,075 people visited Al Areen Park last year

Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve recorded a new high as the number of visitors grew by 92,675 to 293,075 in 2015 compared with 200,400 in 2014.

Statistics indicated that increasingly-growing numbers of people enjoyed visiting the Bahraini-Japanese Friendship park, fauna and flora, aviary lake and desert park recently inaugurated by wife of HM the King and Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s president, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

The general coordinator of Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve, Professor Ismail Al Madani, ascribed the increase in the number of visitors to the importance of the Visitors' Centre for its lush green spaces, animals and birds habitats as the source of entertainment and education at the same time.

The deputy general coordinator, Dr. Adel Al Awadhi, said the improvement of the weather conditions, the increase on the number of enclosures in the Visitors' Centre and continuous modernization of the parky have largely contributed to the increase in number of visitors this year, in addition to the park's huge popularity among the citizens, residents and visitors.
