Bahrain, GCC Officials Discuss Boosting Cooperation in International Dispute Resolution
Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary-General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain and head of Bahrain’s delegation to the UNCITRAL Working Groups, met with Rashed Abdulrahman Mohamed Almuraikhi, Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Mission, to explore ways of enhancing regional cooperation in international dispute resolution.
The meeting, held in Vienna, focused on developing joint initiatives to support the work of UNCITRAL Working Group III, with particular emphasis on investment dispute settlement.
Both sides highlighted the important role of GCC countries in translating the outcomes and procedural documents of the Working Group into Arabic. This step, they noted, not only strengthens accessibility but also reinforces the influence of the Working Group’s work across the Arab region.
