Interior Ministry Warns of Fake Instagram Stores Targeting iPhone Buyers
The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security at the Ministry of Interior has issued a warning about the growing spread of fake Instagram accounts posing as online stores.
Authorities explained that these fraudulent accounts exploit the launch of new iPhone devices by promoting so-called “exclusive deals” in an attempt to deceive individuals and obtain their personal or financial information.
According to the directorate, the scammers employ professional methods, including posting fabricated images and testimonials, and offering significant discounts to lure buyers. These posts are often accompanied by phrases such as “pay now” or “limited-time offer,” with the primary aim of illegally collecting money and sensitive data.
The directorate urged the public to remain cautious and avoid falling for such deceptive advertisements, advising against sharing any personal or banking details with these accounts. It also reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to monitor suspicious online activity and take the necessary measures to protect users.
