In a unique move in the travel industry, global airport rating organization Skytrax has released its first-ever ranking of the world’s best airport bathrooms for 2025, evaluating 235 airports worldwide.

The new list, published by Aviation A2Z, highlights that bathroom quality has become an important criterion of airport excellence, alongside other services that ensure passenger comfort.

The top five airports in the ranking are:

Changi Airport, Singapore (SIN) – Topped the list thanks to luxurious and precise bathroom designs, featuring marble finishes, comfortable lighting, natural plants, and hospital-level cleanliness.

Haneda Airport, Tokyo (HND) – Showcased Japan’s Omotenashi hospitality, with heated toilet seats, built-in bidets, and sound systems ensuring privacy.

Incheon Airport, Seoul (ICN) – Combined technology with functionality, offering smart mirrors displaying flight and weather information, along with advanced sterilization systems.

Bahrain International Airport (BAH) – Entered the top five with bathrooms that blend modern luxury with an Eastern touch, featuring marble, golden decorations, premium fragrances, prayer facilities, and climate-controlled spaces tailored to local conditions.

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) – Known for smart crowd flow management, multilingual signage, and advanced family-friendly facilities.

Ranks 6–10:
6. Kansai Airport, Japan (KIX)
7. New Chitose Airport, Japan (CTS)
8. Narita Airport, Japan (NRT)
9. Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan (TPE)

Significance of the Ranking

The list reflects how airport bathrooms have evolved from mere functional spaces to integral parts of the travel experience. With growing global competition, airports are now focusing on even the smallest details, such as cleanliness, comfort, and innovation, to enhance passenger satisfaction.

According to Aviation A2Z, this first-of-its-kind ranking sets a new benchmark for airports worldwide to provide “five-star service,” even in their bathrooms.
