Shaikh Nasser: Annual Cyber Drill to Boost National Defense

The Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) has praised the success of the national cybersecurity exercise “Cyber Shield 2025”, organized by the National Cybersecurity Center under the theme “Supply Chain Attacks.”

The event was held in the presence of His Highness Lt. General Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council.

The board highlighted that the exercise demonstrated the high readiness and advanced expertise of Bahraini professionals in dealing with evolving cyber threats. It also showcased strong collaboration between government entities, vital sectors, and the private sector—strengthening Bahrain’s leadership in safeguarding cyberspace.

The trustees welcomed Lt. General Nasser’s directives to make the exercise an annual event, calling it a key national platform to promote cooperation, share expertise, and build capabilities in line with the rapid developments in cybersecurity.

The BIPD board also expressed pride in the institute’s recognition during the exercise, where it was honored for its role in the education sector. The achievement, they said, reflects the institute’s commitment to supporting Bahrain’s national progress and raising political and social awareness—helping prepare a generation that understands the importance of cybersecurity and protecting national achievements.

The board further emphasized that the recognition of BIPD alongside other leading national institutions highlights Bahrain’s model of cross-sector collaboration. It also underlines that protecting cyberspace is a shared responsibility that requires both official and community efforts.
