Bahrain Opens Registration for Professional Pearl Program
The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones, “Danat,” has announced the opening of registration for its professional “Pearl Program,” scheduled to take place from October 24 to 31. The program is part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to preserve Bahrain’s authentic pearl heritage, pass specialized knowledge to younger generations, and train qualified national professionals in the pearl industry.
The eight-day program offers a comprehensive mix of theoretical and practical activities. Participants will explore the science and history of natural and cultured pearls, work with advanced testing tools and real pearl samples, and gain hands-on experience in pearl evaluation.
As part of the program, participants will visit the Pearl Route, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to experience Bahrain’s rich pearl heritage firsthand. They will also take part in a unique diving experience to collect pearls themselves.
Noura Jamshir, CEO of Danat, emphasized that the program provides a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to understand the secrets of this natural treasure that has shaped Bahrain’s history and identity. She highlighted the institute’s commitment to offering high-quality training programs that build specialized Bahraini expertise in the renowned pearl sector.
“The program is designed as a complete experience covering all practical and scientific aspects needed to master the pearl industry,” Jamshir added. “Participants will gain real diving experience, closely examine pearls, and acquire modern skills and practices essential for excellence in pearl evaluation, preparing them to pursue professional careers in this field at the highest level.”
