Deputy King Directs Parent Induction Day in Public Schools

The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chaired today’s weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s recent visit to Oman and his meeting with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said, noting the strong and historic ties between the two nations.

Marking the 24th anniversary of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the Cabinet praised the Council’s achievements and the vital role of Bahraini women in driving progress and development. The support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW, was also recognised for advancing women’s contributions across all fields.

On education, HRH the Deputy King directed the Ministry of Education to introduce a “Parent Induction Day” across public schools. The initiative aims to brief parents and guardians on the new academic year and strengthen the supportive environment for students.

The Cabinet also commended the success of the 14th edition of Youth City 2030, which attracted strong participation from young Bahrainis. The role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in encouraging innovation and excellence among the youth was acknowledged, alongside appreciation for the organisers of the programme.

The meeting further celebrated the inauguration of the new Abdullah bin Khalid College of Islamic Studies building, which will prepare future scholars and leaders while promoting coexistence and Islamic values.

On international matters, the Cabinet expressed condolences to Pakistan following the recent floods and landslides in the north of the country, offering sympathy to the families of the victims and wishing the injured a swift recovery.

The Cabinet also reviewed and approved several memorandums, including:

Updating the design of government websites.

Classifying certain organisations and individuals as terrorist entities.

Amending the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development agreement.

Signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the GCC Accreditation Center on halal product supervision.

An MoU between the Ministry of Education and the British Council.

The expropriation of two properties for urban development projects.

The government’s response to proposals from the Council of Representatives.

In addition, the Cabinet reviewed reports on the upcoming GCC Ministerial Council agenda, as well as the performance of government systems such as Sijilat, Tawasul, and Benayat, which showed improved efficiency in supporting business and public services.

The meeting concluded with updates on the recent visit of the World Health Organisation’s Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean to Bahrain.
