Bahrain Launches Awareness Sessions for School Transport Drivers

The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Directorate of Traffic has organized a series of awareness lectures for school transport drivers in both the public and private sectors. The initiative comes as part of preparations for the upcoming school year and aims to ensure the safety of students during their daily commutes.

The sessions focus on educating drivers about safe and proper transportation practices. Drivers are guided on the correct procedures to follow during student transport, helping to guarantee their safety.

During the lectures, the Directorate emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws, including respecting speed limits, staying within designated lanes, and not exceeding the allowed number of passengers. Drivers were also reminded to use proper stopping areas at schools to avoid disrupting traffic and to cooperate with community police officers and school guards to maintain smooth traffic flow around educational institutions.

The General Directorate of Traffic also urged parents to avoid hiring drivers who do not hold official licenses from the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, ensuring the safety of their children.

Authorities confirmed that legal action will be taken against unlicensed drivers, with violations referred to the Public Prosecution.
