Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain is turning its vision of compassion into concrete humanitarian action.

His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), said this approach has reinforced the Kingdom’s position as a pioneering partner in advancing human welfare and development.

World focus

Marking World Humanitarian Day, H.E. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla highlighted Bahrain’s alignment with the global community in underscoring the importance of giving, extending assistance to those in need, and easing the suffering caused by wars, crises, and natural disasters.

H.E. also praised the prominent role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), in enhancing the Foundation’s contributions at both local and international levels.

The KHGC Chairman noted that Bahrain has become a unique model of humanitarian work, embodying the highest values of compassion and underscoring the vital link between peace and development. Initiatives such as the call for an international peace conference in the Middle East, the provision of education and healthcare to conflict-affected communities, the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, and the King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance reflect the Kingdom’s wide-ranging humanitarian commitment.

Sustained commitment

H.E. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla also expressed appreciation for international organisations, UN agencies, and frontline relief workers, stressing the need to protect them and to honour those who lost their lives or were injured in the line of duty.

His Excellency affirmed that the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance continues to contribute across humanitarian fields with a focus on education, training, and capacity-building. Guided by the royal vision, H.E. said, the Centre affirms that humanitarian work is both a duty and a value that unites humanity, inspiring new hope and lasting impact in the pursuit of peace, cooperation, and harmony.
