The Bahrain Journalists Association expressed its sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his congratulatory message on the election of the new board of directors for the association’s upcoming term.

Issa Al Shayji, President of the Bahrain Journalists Association, said the King’s praise for the association’s achievements and successes is a major motivation for the press community in Bahrain. He added that it encourages journalists to continue advancing their work by developing skilled professionals capable of addressing the rapid developments in global media today.

Al Shayji emphasized that Bahraini journalism is witnessing a thriving period under the wise leadership of His Majesty, thanks to laws and regulations that safeguard freedom of expression, allowing the press to operate freely and safely.

He also highlighted that the press community draws inspiration and determination from the King’s guidance in promoting freedom of opinion, working alongside various sectors that are experiencing unprecedented growth in Bahrain.

The president noted that Bahraini journalism has achieved many milestones under the current era and welcomed the approval of the Press and Publication Law by the Council of Representatives. This new law meets the King’s vision for a modern and enlightened framework for Bahraini media, recognizing the press’s national responsibilities.

Al Shayji added that the association is celebrating its silver jubilee this year, reflecting one of the democratic achievements established under His Majesty’s leadership, which has always supported and nurtured the association as a key pillar of Bahrain’s democracy.

He concluded by pledging that, during this milestone, the association will continue to enhance Bahraini journalism by upholding professional standards, objectivity, and credibility, contributing to Bahrain’s leading position and continued national development.
